Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Kalido is a competitive intelligence platform that helps teams stay informed about their competitive landscape. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Kalido at kalido.live, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to everyone who visits our website, creates an account, or uses any part of our platform. By using Kalido, you agree to the practices described here.

We've written this to be readable. If something is unclear, email us at privacy@kalido.live and we'll explain it in plain English.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and name, either directly or through a supported sign-in method (such as Google). We use these to identify your account, communicate with you, and deliver the service.

Company and competitor information. To use Kalido, you tell us about your company — its name, industry, and competitive priorities — and the competitors you want to track. This information shapes what intelligence we deliver to you.

Support and feedback. If you contact us directly, we retain that correspondence.

Information from third parties

Sign-in providers. When you sign in with Google or another supported method, we receive a verified email and basic profile information. We don't receive your passwords.

Payment processors. When you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. The processor collects your payment card details directly — we never see or store your full card number. We receive only limited billing information (such as the last four digits, card brand, and billing address) to display on your account and handle support requests.

Information collected automatically

Usage data. When you interact with Kalido, we may log basic information about those interactions — such as which features you use and when — to understand how the product is used and where we can improve it.

Log data. Our systems automatically record standard technical information: IP addresses, browser type, referring URLs, and timestamps. This data is used for security monitoring and debugging.

Cookies and local storage. We use browser cookies and local storage to maintain your session, remember preferences, and support authentication. We may add analytics cookies in the future; if we do, we'll update this section and provide appropriate controls.

3. How We Use Your Information

Service delivery. Everything you tell us about your company and competitors is used to deliver competitive intelligence to you — including insights, alerts, battlecards, and briefs.

AI-assisted analysis. Kalido uses AI to analyze publicly available information and generate insights. Your workspace context (company and competitor names) is used as part of this analysis. We do not share your personal account information (such as your email) with AI providers.

Platform improvement. We analyze aggregated, de-identified usage patterns to understand what's working and what isn't. Individual user data is not shared externally for this purpose.

Communication. We use your email for service-related messages: account confirmations, policy changes, and workspace status updates. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with data brokers or advertising networks.

Service providers. We use third-party service providers for hosting, data storage, authentication, and AI-assisted analysis. These providers process your data only as needed to operate the platform on our behalf, and under appropriate data protection agreements.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Kalido, our users, or others.

Business transfers. If Kalido is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred. We'll notify you before that happens, and you'll have the option to delete your account.

5. AI and Data Processing

What AI is used for

Kalido uses AI to analyze publicly available information about your competitors and generate actionable intelligence. The AI processes publicly available content alongside the company and competitor names you've configured in your workspace.

What AI does not process

We do not intentionally collect or process personal data about individuals at competitor companies. When we analyze hiring activity, we look at aggregate patterns — role types, departments, seniority levels — not information about specific individuals.

Your data and AI training

Your data is not used to train AI models. We use AI providers whose terms prohibit using API-submitted data for model training without explicit consent. We send only the minimum context necessary for each task and do not share your personal account information with AI providers.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

If you delete your account, we will delete your associated data within 30 days, except where required for legal or compliance reasons.

You can request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@kalido.live. System logs are retained for 30–90 days for security purposes, then purged.

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • Encryption in transit — all data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
  • Encryption at rest — stored data is encrypted by our infrastructure providers
  • Access controls — production access is restricted to authorized personnel
  • Data separation — each account's data is isolated; one user cannot access another's workspace

If you discover a potential vulnerability, email privacy@kalido.live immediately.

8. International Data Transfers

Our service providers may process data in the United States and European Union. By using Kalido, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions outside your home country.

We rely on appropriate contractual frameworks and data processing agreements with our providers. Contact us at privacy@kalido.live for details.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights over your personal data. We honor these regardless of whether they're strictly required in your jurisdiction.

  • Access and portability — request a copy of your data in a portable format
  • Correction — update inaccurate information in account settings or by contacting us
  • Deletion — request deletion of your account and data at any time
  • Restriction and objection — ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances
  • Opt-out — every non-essential email includes an unsubscribe link

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know the categories of personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to delete, correct, opt out of sale (we don't sell data), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

EU/UK residents (GDPR): You have rights under GDPR/UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal basis for processing is typically contract performance or legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@kalido.live. We aim to respond within 30 days.

10. Children

Kalido is a professional B2B platform intended for adults in business roles. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If we become aware that we've inadvertently collected information from a minor, we'll delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We'll update this policy when our practices change in ways that affect how we handle personal information. For material changes, we'll notify you by email or through a prominent in-app notice with reasonable advance notice.

The “Last updated” date at the top always reflects the latest revision.
